On October 8, 2025, the UAE Cabinet issued Resolution No. (102) of 2025, introducing an updated framework for trademark fees and services under the Ministry of Economy and Tourism.
This reform is designed to support businesses, enhance accessibility, and align the UAE’s IP system with international best practices. The new framework will officially take effect on November 15, 2025.
50% Fee Reduction for SMEs – supporting entrepreneurship and innovation in the UAE market.
Exemptions for People of Determination – promoting inclusive access to trademark services.
New Service Fees Introduced – including fees for appeals against trademark rejection decisions.
Revised Appeal Fees – updated structure for appeals against opposition decisions, now differentiated based on whether the filing party is the opponent or the plaintiff.
Express Examination Fees – allowing applicants to request expedited processing of trademark applications.
Conversion to International Applications – new fees introduced for converting national trademark applications to international applications, requiring additional payments to the UAE Trademark Office for WIPO filings.
