FAQ

Questions about registration

Do I need a search before filing?

It is not mandatory, but a search shows conflicting marks early and avoids losing official fees on a refused application.

Should I register the name and the logo separately?

Separate filings give the broadest protection. A combined filing costs less but protects the name and logo together.

What happens if my application is refused?

A refusal can be appealed within the legal deadline. We prepare the appeal and, where useful, a restricted specification.

Are there fee reductions for SMEs?

The Ministry has announced a 50% reduction in trademark service fees for members of the National SME Programme.
